TRACES SCARIFIED CERAMICS
The architect and designer Sophie Dries has created a series of ceramic vases with the French pottery maker Thomas Vivant and Felix Galland. The Traces collection is named after the idea of scars in the ceramics, insections that the pottery master makes with knives, before the stoneware is fired. Sophie Dries plays on traditional arts and craft materials, always twisted with a contemporary design; contrast between black clay and shiny enamel, smooth surfaces and scarified textures in the ceramics.
In the 2017 TRACES collection that was on show at Milan Salone then in Brussels, she has created a serie more specifically all in ceramics.
In 2018, the collection has been exhibited in a curated show in Roma at Daforma Gallery, then be part of collectible design fair together with the Belgium Gallery Atelier Jespers.
In 2019, they have been setted at the exhibition AD Interieur on the stand of Pierre Bonnefille and at the boutique of the Musee of Arts Deco for the White Card of Collectible.
