In collaboration with publisher The TwentyFour Six, Sophie Dries has designed a bespoke collection of handblown glass candleholders. Born from her long-standing fascination with geology and natural minerals, the project explores inserting mica directly into molten glass, creating an organic interplay between light, raw mineral inclusions, and fluid forms.

The collection is organized around drop-like, fluid shapes generated through the unpredictable nature of traditional glassblowing techniques. Handcrafted one by one in Belgium, each piece remains entirely unique. The candleholders were conceived as functional, accessible objects designed to bring the spirit of collectible gallery glass into daily domestic life.

Presented as part of the exhibition 26TH AND 10TH, taking place inside a historic Chelsea loft for New York Design Week, the project expands on the concept first introduced in POLIMENO’s Room with a View presentation in Paris. Organized in collaboration with BILLYCLARK and publisher The TwentyFour Six, the exhibition transforms the domestic space into a living archive, blurring the boundaries between private apartment, gallery, and contemporary interior.

The space is organized as an immersive residential layout that explores identity, intimacy, and the tension between appearance and lived experience. Staged across the light-filled volumes of the Manhattan loft, Sophie Dries’ featured design works and mineral creations are placed in direct conversation with masterworks of modern art and collectible design, establishing a fluid sequence through the living quarters.
