GARAGISME LAUNCH OF MONOLITH SHIFT KNOB - FALL 2019

Created for the launch event hosted by automotive and art culture magazine Garagisme in 2019, Sophie Dries presented the Monolith shift knob, an experimental project bridging automotive design with collectible art objects.

The object reimagines a functional gear shift lever as a compact, sculptural monolith. Crafted through a dialogue of contrasting materials, the design combines a raw, hand-sculpted mineral base with precision-machined metal details, bringing tactile weight to an everyday mechanical component.
