A Parisian collectors couple transformed their former family apartment into a three-level penthouse, redesigned by interior decorator Sophie Dries. With the help of engineers, she restructured the plan, introduced curves for fluid circulation, and created new functions: a private suite, a guest floor, and reception spaces with terraces. The main challenge was to harmonize architecture with the couple’s collection of over 300 works of modern and contemporary art. Neutral tones, wood burl, and travertine provide a purified backdrop for masterpieces by Picasso, Kounellis, Claire Tabouret, and unique design pieces, including a fireplace by Philolaos. The result is a refined space where art and design take center stage.
